REDLANDS YOUTH TRANSPORT POLICY
Redlands Presbyterian Church takes seriously our responsibility to care for the spiritual, emotional, and physical wellbeing of the youth entrusted to our care. That extends to our transport arrangements and that policy is detailed below.
- There must be two leaders/helpers present in any vehicle when a youth is to be transported. This requirement can be waived in the following situations:
- The leader is a direct family member of the youth being transported.
- If a parent requests their youth to be transported to and from Youth events by only one leader, their prior written consent and Session approval is required.
- If an urgent/unexpected situation arises where only one leader/driver is available, written approval from a parent (a text message being acceptable) and verbal approval by a Minister of the church must be provided.
- All drivers must have a minimum of Secondary Provisional License (Green P Plate).
- All vehicles used must be registered and in road worthy condition. Also, if not the property of the driver, prior written consent must be provided by the owner.
- Session must approve all drivers and a register of approved drivers, including a copy of each driver’s license, is to be kept on file. This must updated yearly and when new drivers are approved by Session. Parents of youth are not required to be approved by Session.
I give permission for photographs and videos of my youth to be taken and used on the church website, facebook page and/or noticeboard. Note: these are taken of youth group members doing group activities or in groups. There will be no individual shots taken.
